I'm proud to announce Oops! All Servos! , a Seeed Studio XIAO / Adafruit QT Py compatible expansion board, with JR-style servo headers on all 11 GPIO pins. Each pin also has a bidirectional 3.3v-to-5v level shifter, and the board has external power input including a current measurement point.

Earlier this year, Ashu and Ava from JLCPCB 💵 wrote to say they'd seen my write-ups about using PCBWay 💵 for sponsored prototyping and would I be open to a small collaboration with JLCPCB? They wanted to see if I was open to comparing another fabrication experience, letting me judge it on their process, quality, delivery, and support.

Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, I said, "Yes!"

I was excited to use Oops! All Servos! as a test case for JLCPCB since it's quite a dense design, for me anyway, with 11 SOT23 MOSFETs and 22 0805 SMD resistors.

I wasn't too keen on manually pasting, placing, and soldering 33 parts, all with smaller footprints than I'd ever used before, so I opted to test out their PCB Assembly service.

So far, production has been smooth, with less than four days elapsing between placing my order and dispatch. Now, I've just got to wait out the courier and order the through-hole components!
